Equipoise Side Effects Check

Estrogenic Side Effects of Equipoise

Equipoise has low aromatase enzyme activity, resulting in an estrogen conversion rate approximately half that of testosterone.[1]

Consequently, it has fewer estrogen-related side effects compared to testosterone, but it may be slightly higher than Nandrolone.

Generally, Equipoise does not exhibit serious estrogenic side effects within appropriate dosage ranges, but the risk of side effects increases when the dosage exceeds 200-400mg.

If estrogenic side effects become intolerable during Equipoise use, the use of an Aromatase Inhibitor (AI) is recommended.

AIs inhibit the conversion to estrogen, eliminating the root cause of the side effects.

Alternatively, a SERM like Nolvadex can be used, which blocks estrogen action in breast tissue but does not actually lower estrogen levels in the body.

Estrogenic side effects when using Equipoise may include water retention, bloating, increased blood pressure, potential for fat gain, and gynecomastia.

Therefore, it is important to adjust the dosage and, if necessary, combine it with appropriate medications.


Androgenic Side Effects of Equipoise

Equipoise has low androgenic strength, making it a suitable choice for individuals sensitive to androgenic side effects.

It exhibits approximately half the androgenic strength compared to testosterone, but it still exhibits some androgenic effects.

This means that androgenic side effects such as acne, increased sebum production, body and facial hair growth, and increased risk of Male Pattern Baldness (MPB) in genetically susceptible individuals cannot be completely ruled out.

Equipoise interacts with the 5-alpha reductase (5AR) enzyme and converts to the more potent dihydroboldenone instead of dihydrotestosterone (DHT).

However, this conversion rate is low, making the use of 5AR inhibitors like Finasteride minimally effective.

Therefore, the androgenic strength associated with Equipoise is constant, and its use must account for this.[2]

For women, there is a risk of virilization symptoms appearing with long-term use or excessive dosages.

This includes voice changes, body and facial hair growth, clitoral enlargement, and irregular menstruation.

To avoid such side effects, dosage and cycle length must be managed carefully.

HPTA and Endogenous Testosterone Production Side Effects

All anabolic steroids share the common side effect of suppressing or shutting down endogenous testosterone production, and Equipoise is no exception.

Maintaining excessively long cycles, in particular, carries the risk of the body’s endocrine system shutting down completely and permanently.

To prevent this situation, a proper and thorough Post Cycle Therapy (PCT) must be implemented after the cycle ends.

PCT aims to restore the HPTA (Hypothalamic-Pituitary-Testicular Axis) to its normal state and recover endogenous testosterone production as quickly as possible.

Commonly used ancillary compounds in this process include Nolvadex and HCG (Human Chorionic Gonadotropin), which help stimulate testosterone production.

Failure to properly execute PCT risks permanent damage to the HPTA, which can result in abnormally low testosterone levels.

This could lead to requiring lifelong TRT (Testosterone Replacement Therapy).

Therefore, when using steroids like Equipoise, prioritizing HPTA recovery and testosterone normalization in the post-cycle phase is paramount.

This can help prevent long-term health issues.


Hepatotoxicity Side Effects

Equipoise is not an oral anabolic steroid with a C17-alpha alkylation chemical modification, so there is no hepatotoxicity risk associated with Equipoise.


Cardiovascular Side Effects

All anabolic steroids are well-known for negatively impacting cholesterol levels and cardiovascular health.

This impact primarily involves decreasing HDL (good cholesterol) and increasing LDL (bad cholesterol), which raises the risk of atherosclerosis.
