Anadrol is similar to Dianabol (Dbol), but with extreme limitations on its dosage.
Anadrol’s notorious liver toxicity is one of its main limiting factors, making its use recommended for no longer than 4-6 weeks.
Another limitation is Anadrol’s high estrogenic activity.
While it doesn’t convert to estrogen via the aromatase enzyme, it acts like estrogen in various areas.
This makes aromatase inhibitors ineffective, leaving a SERM (like Nolvadex) as the only useful defense against gynecomastia.
Anadrol is not suitable for those looking to add lean body mass without water retention.
Anadrol is primarily used for bulking and strength gains.
Anadrol dosage and cycles are limited due to its sheer power and risk of hepatotoxicity.
Typically, higher doses lead to diminished returns and are less effective due to increased appetite suppression, estrogenic side effects, and a greater risk of liver toxicity.
Medical Anadrol Dosage
The initial Oxymetholone (Anadrol) dosage guidelines for combating catabolic muscle-wasting conditions were 2.5mg, taken three times per day.
The highest recommended dosage once went up to 30mg, but this was uncommon.
In the 1970s, when the FDA narrowed its guidelines for use exclusively in anemia treatment, a dosage of 1-5mg per kg of body weight per day was suggested.
As a result, the tablets were changed from the original 2.5, 5, and 10mg to 50mg tablets.
For anemia treatment, the upper limit (5mg) could be excessive for heavier individuals, so the dosage was typically limited to the 1-2mg range.
Beginner, Intermediate, and Advanced Anadrol Dosage
Anadrol dosages for performance and physique enhancement do not deviate much from medical prescription guidelines due to its immense power.
As mentioned earlier, its potency and hepatotoxicity create a limited range for dosage adjustments.
Anadrol is a powerful anabolic agent, and beginners typically take 25-50mg per day.
Just 50mg per day is enough to produce dramatic strength and mass gains even for experienced users.
It’s rarely necessary for a beginner or even an intermediate user to exceed 50mg.
Intermediate dosages are typically in the 50-100mg range, although most find 50mg to be more than sufficient.
Advanced doses can go up to 100-150mg, but it’s rare for anyone to venture as high as 150mg.
High dosages do not define an advanced user.
Due to Anadrol’s potent nature and the high risk of its androgenic strength, it is not recommended for female use.
The risk of virilization symptoms is high, and there are few, if any, established guidelines for its administration in women.
Proper Administration and Timing of Anadrol Dosages
Anadrol has a half-life of about 8-9 hours, which is relatively long compared to other oral steroids.
Because of this, split-dosing protocols are not necessary.
Taking 50mg once per day in the morning is sufficient to maintain stable blood plasma levels throughout your waking hours.
Some may choose to split the dose between morning and evening, but there is no significant advantage to administering the dosage in this split fashion.

Expectations and Results from Anadrol Dosages
Anadrol is one of the most powerful oral steroids available, and users can expect dramatic mass and strength gains even at low dosages.
It’s not uncommon for a beginner to gain 7-10kg of mass within just a few weeks.
Much of this weight gain is due to water retention from Anadrol’s estrogenic effects.
Anadrol is primarily used as a bulking agent, and making gains is rarely an issue.
However, the rapid increase in strength raises the risk of rupturing tendons and connective tissue during training.
This is because while muscles can generate force rapidly, connective tissues and tendons strengthen at a much slower pace.
Consequently, the force generated by the muscles can exceed the limits of the connective tissue, causing it to tear.
This highlights the danger of gaining mass faster than the body’s support structures can handle.
